Distance Reiki

Updated: Dec 24, 2023

Distance Reiki, also known as remote Reiki or absent Reiki, is a practice where a Reiki practitioner sends healing energy to a person who is not physically present with them. The person can be in the next room or anywhere in the world. Below is a simplified explanation of how it works:

  • Intent and Visualization: The practitioner sets a clear intention to send Reiki energy to the recipient. They typically use visualization techniques to connect with the recipient's energy field, often using a photo, name, or a representation of the person as a focus.

  • Channeling Energy: The practitioner taps into the universal life force energy (Reiki) and channels it through their hands, much like in an in-person session. This energy can transcend time and space to the recipient.

  • Sending Energy: The practitioner directs the Reiki energy towards the intended recipient, visualizing it reaching them and providing healing, balance, and relaxation.

  • Recipient's Experience: The recipient may or may not be aware that the distance Reiki is being performed. Some people report feeling sensations, relaxation, or emotional shifts during or after a session. After a session of Distant Reiki, or in person Reiki, dreams are often very vivid and can be a continuation of the energy flowing.
