The Great Overturning: Why the World Feels Like It’s Spinning Faster

If you have woken up recently feeling like the ground beneath you is moving, or like time itself has sped up to an unmanageable pace, let me tell you the good news: You are not going crazy.

You are simply feeling the weather report of the Cosmos.

In the Andean tradition, we don’t look at history as a straight line moving from the past to the future. We see it as a spiral. And right now, we are living through a massive turn in that spiral known as the Pachakuti.

What is the Pachakuti?

The word comes from two Quechua words: Pacha (meaning Time, Space, and the World) and Kuti (meaning to turn over, or return).

Literal translation: The World Turning Upside Down.

Think of a farmer plowing a field. To prepare for a new harvest, he has to rip up the old soil, bury the weeds, and turn the dark, fertile earth up to the sun. To the weeds, this feels like an apocalypse. To the Farmer, it is just Renovation.

We are currently in a cosmic "renovation." The structures, systems, and beliefs that have held our world together for the last 500 years are being plowed under so that something new can grow. This is why everything feels chaotic, messy, and loud. The house is being remodeled while we are still living in it.

How Did We Get Here?

The Andean prophecies speak of 500-year cycles. We have just emerged from a 500-year cycle of "Heaviness" or density, a time characterized by domination, materialism, and a disconnect from the Earth. It was an era where the human mind (Logic) was King, and the human heart (Intuition) was a servant.

But the clock has ticked over. We are now entering the Taripay Pacha—the "Age of Meeting Ourselves Again."

The energy of the planet has shifted from "dense" to "refined." The voltage has been turned up. This shift began decades ago, but we are now in the acceleration phase. The old operating system (Fear and Control) is crashing because it cannot run on this new high-speed network.

Where Is It Going?

The destination of the Pachakuti is Transparency.

In the old world, you could hide. You could have a secret life, suppressed emotions, or hidden integrity issues, and keep them buried for years. In the new energy, nothing stays hidden.

Have you noticed how many secrets are coming to light? Politicians, celebrities, corporations—everything hidden is being vomited up to the surface. The same is happening in our personal lives. If you are in a job you hate, a relationship that drains you, or living a lie, the Pachakuti will make it unbearable. It forces us to align our insides with our outsides.

We are moving toward a state of Yanantin, harmonious balance. The goal is a world where the masculine (action/logic) and feminine (feeling/magic) work together as partners, not enemies.

How to Navigate the Storm

Navigating a tornado is simple, but it isn't easy. Here are the three rules for surviving the Overturning:

1. Don't Hold Onto the Riverbank The current of change is stronger than you. If you try to cling to "how things used to be," you will get battered against the rocks. The only safe move is to let go and float. Adaptability is your new superpower.

2. Ground Your Energy With the energy moving so fast, you need an anchor. If you spend all day in your head (worrying, scrolling, analyzing), you will blow a fuse. You must connect to the Earth. Walk barefoot. Garden. Sit against a tree. You need to offload the excess static electricity into the ground.

3. Practice Radical Truth Because this new time is about transparency, lying has become energetically expensive. It takes too much energy to maintain a mask. The fastest way to navigate this time is to be brutally honest about who you are, what you want, and what you can no longer tolerate.

The Bottom Line

The Pachakuti is not a punishment. It is a birth. Birth is messy, painful, and loud—but it is the only way Life arrives. You chose to be here for this. You are the transition team.

So when the world feels like it's spinning, don't panic. Just plant your feet on the Earth, take a deep breath, and ride the turn.
